Hope everyone had a great weekend.
My husband and I are working hard to get our house paid off in the next six months. Our goal is to have about three months of savings tucked away before we officially list our home. Neither of us particularly likes change—especially a big one—but here we are, planning the biggest move of our lives. We’re aiming to sell our home and move across the country by this time next year!
Last year, we had quite a few financial curveballs that delayed our payoff date. We’ve been working hard to stay on track by taking extra shifts and working overtime whenever it’s offered. Even though it’s only April, this year has already brought its own set of challenges.
One thing on my mind lately is my husband’s car. It has over 250,000 miles on it, and I’ve been praying it makes it until he retires in January. Today, he’s actually at the shop with our son (who is a mechanic) to get it checked out. Fingers crossed it’s an easy fix and nothing major!
I’ll admit, I’m a bit all over the place learning how to post content and share our journey toward this dream. I hope those of you following along aren't bored! Please hang in there with me while I figure all of this out.
I’m just a middle-aged woman (I really don’t like saying that—where has the time gone?) who works full-time as a caregiver. I’m doing my best to learn the ropes so that I can eventually make this business my full-time job. It’s not about "getting rich"—though that would be nice! It’s about having the flexibility to work from home, being there for my parents, and spending more time with my grown kids. Life keeps us so busy, and I’m just ready for more time with my loved ones.
Have any of you ever made a massive move or a big career change later in life? I’d love to hear your stories or advice in the comments below!
